Every man from every living generation knows of GQ magazine. Just the name itself, Gentleman’s Quarterly, conjures the image of well-groomed men from decades past. To put the scope of the magazine’s existence and influence in perspective, according to GQ’s Wikipedia page, the first version of the go-to male style, grooming and fashion publication launched when my 90-year-old grandfather was just seven years old.
For years, men have been attempting to replicate the styles of those who’ve graced the cover of GQ, coveting looks like Jake Gyllenhaal’s camel-colored Prada suit, Joseph Gordon Levitt’s sharp tie collection and Ryan Gosling’s perfectly-tamed tresses.
At least one of those iconic looks is now easy to achieve, thanks to the brand newGQ Barbershop, open for business in the main concourse of Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. The GQ Barbershop is a collaborative effort with the popularFellow Barber, and offers a quick cleanup ($10), a full shave & cut ($75) and everything in between during events that take place at the Barclay’s Center.
GQ-approved style, right in Tailored Avenue’s backyard? We’re thrilled and excited to get groomed at the new Brooklyn spot, and then keep our new style looking fresh for weeks with The Perfect Part of course.
