You may think you’re in the best shape of your life (at least I did) until you pick up a Kettlebell and reality kicks in. Turns out, the Russians were right and you’re not as strong as you think. On top of that, you realize that you’re quickly fatigued and you have a higher risk for injury than someone who includes flexibility movements in their daily routine.
By no means and I telling you to drop everything you’re doing and switch to a Kettlebell diet. I’m simply saying that instead of always isolating muscle groups, begin to incorporate whole-body dynamic movements (like Kettlebell exercises) to enhance your strength and conditioning. It’s an extremely crucial proponent in building a strong foundation. For me, in order to progress my level of fitness, I needed to work on my flexibility movements and form.
We started with the fundamentals with a goal to master what’s known as the #Sacred6 in Kettlebell Exercises:
- Two-Handed Swing
- Goblet Squat
- Clean & Jerk
- Turkish Get-Up
Why do it?
- Increased Mobility
- Enhanced Core
- Strengthen Tendons and Ligaments
- Stronger Joints
- Less susceptible to injury
If you can perform each of these exercises, there is no need to convince you that the Kettlebell is the utmost complete workout tool on this planet. I’m unable to comment on whether or not this is true for the newly discovered Earth-sized planets in TRAPPIST-1. For all we know…there could be…I’ll stop speculating now.
