Brooklyn Flea + Smorgasburg

Sunday Funday in Brooklyn

Sunday rolls around and Tailored Avenue decided to head to Williamsburg for the Flea and Smorgasburg. For those of you not too familiar, BK hosts a number of these throughout the year in Park Slope, Fort Greene, etc.

The Brooklyn Flea and Smorgasburg don’t always link up but this Sunday they did! A little weak in the knees from a night out in NYC, we were excited for what was ahead of us. The New York Times calls it “One of the great urban experiences in New York.” With 120 Goods Vendors and 60 Food Vendors, we were focused on discovering some new features but of course we caved for some food. We’ll get to that later, yumm. Vendors that caught our eye: Brooklyn Watches, crafted in BK by David Sokosh. Swiss powered, 17 jewel, manual wind pocket watch movements produced in the 1970’s, which never need batteries. Simply wind them each day to keep them running. Each watch is one-of-a-kind.

Based in DUMBO, Citybitz features original photography combined with metal, resin and glass. This unique flask really caught our eye mainly because penguins are merely awesome. It’s an original photograph taken from inside the NYC subway. Think we’re lying? Look for them on the N/R Subway line at the 59th Street stop, near the Central Park Zoo.

The Front General Store has pretty much anything from vintage to new. Their sheer appearance is what caught our eye and not to mention the oldschool hood-less sweatshirts.

We’ve all heard the hype; people literally go to Smorgasburg strictly for the Ramen Burger and the Ramen Burger only. They market it by saying it’s unlike anything you’ve ever tasted before. They were not lying. A burger sandwiched between two buns made of ramen noodles complemented by a special glaze and fresh veggies. Its legit, enough said.

This food vendor doesn’t need much of an introduction. If you like meat, you must try this Mesquite-smoked Black Angus Brisket.

Do you enjoy Japanese & Mexican food? Well, imagine these two cuisines had a baby and the offspring was named Spicy Tuna Taco. It was a Spicy Tuna Roll transformed into a taco. Words can’t describe it. Find them at your next Smorgasburg experience.

If you have yet to experience the Brooklyn Flea + Smorgasburg, we highly recommend doing so. Next up, Northern Grade + GQ pop-up on March 22-23 held at Powerhouse Arena in Brooklyn located at 37 Main Street.
